제12회 부천국제판타스틱영화제가 7월18일(금) 오후 6시 부천시민회관 대공연장에서 열리는 개막식을 시작으로 열흘간의 일정에 들어간다. 영화감독 민규동과 방은진의 사회로 진행될 이날 개막식은 홍건표 조직위원장의 개막선언과 함께 한상준 집행위원장의 개막인사와 심사위원단 소개, PiFan 레이디 유진의 무대인사 순으로 이어진다. 또 개막작인 <바시르와 왈츠를>의 소개와 비나리, 신용구 작가의 영화제 축하 퍼포먼스도 열릴 예정이다. 이날 행사에는 김문수 경기도지사, 이해선 전 부천시장, 이춘연 영화인회의 이사장, 김동호 부산국제영화제 집행위원장 등의 인사가 참석할 예정이며, 개막식이 끝나는 오후 6시55분부터는 개막작 <바시르와 왈츠를>을 상영한다.

On 18 July, the 12th Puchon International Fantastic Film Festival will kick off its ten-day journey at 6 p.m. at Citizen's Hall. Film director Min Kyu-dong and Bang Eun-jin will be the hosts of the opening ceremony, in which the chief organizer of PiFan Hong Gun-pyo will declare the start of the festival and festival director Han Sang-hoon will introduce the juries and PiFan Lady Eu-jin. The ceremony also includes the introduction of the opening film, <Waltz with Bashir> and the celebrating performance by Binari and Shin Yong-gu. The screening of <Waltz with Bashir> will close the ceremony.
