The Movement for the Abolition of Thai Censorship to JIFF

520 JIFF spectators and guests have participated in the movement for the abolition of Thai film censorship. According to the film festival, guests included directors Kim Tae-yong, Aure lien Gerbault and Kim Kye-jung, and film critic Hong Sung-nam supported the Thai film personnel’s movement to fight for their freedom of expression. Sign up for support was held on the 1st, right after the screening of Apichatpong Weerasethakul’s <The Anthem>. “Despite the poor path of flow,” 500 or so spectators voluntarily attended the signing. Their signatures will first be delivered to film critic Chalida Uabumrungjit who flew back to on the 2nd, who will then deliver them to Apichatpong Weerasethakul. When <Syndromes and a Century> was banned in , Apichatpong Weerasethakul sent a letter imploring the festival’s help to support the signature movement.
