Hong Gil-dong, the illegitimate son of a nobleman, is content with his modest life as he wanders through the kingdom and discovers nature’s simple enjoyments. But as time goes by, as he meets many peasants along the way, he becomes more aware of the sufferings of common people and realizes that this is the doing of the corrupted nobles and officials. He then intends to alleviate this situation by stealing from the rich and distributing the loot to the poor, like a Korean Robin Hood.more
