In the middle of the 1970s, In-gyeong is a spirited young woman living in a small village with her immature mother and her troublemaking little brother. Despite all the troubles they give her, she still endures them and does her best to support her family. And not only that, she even dreams of entering one day an university so she can afford to provide them with a better life. So, when she suddenly learns that her mother has sold her as a concubine, she doesn’t hesitate for long before packing her bags and boarding on the last train to Seoul. There, she meets by chance Jeong-ho, a man obsessed with cinema who instantly sees in her the actress who will make the success of his production company.
